observation on rigging

curious to see what others have noticed or think about this. I've only rigged about a doz bobbers that have resulted in a race so there is obviously not much for me or my dogs to go off of. my female is very cold nosed on the ground and more than willing to spend the day hammering and casting out on a bad track. my male will only give it a bit and then come out or be looking to move on for another. but on the box it is a different story. the warm nosed dog will strike all sorts and ages of cat scent and I suspect yote too. most of which result in no track to trail. the cold nosed female will only rig if she can smell the cat itself. she has gotten tracks the male has boxed going though. I do get out on foot and work the area with them to get things going. I just find this strange given their track abilities and since they both know their job and are clean in their own company. hope you can sift through the semantics and get the jist. these dogs are only 2-2.5 yrs old and I have 2 pups coming behind them so I imagine this will change in time. anyone else seen this?
