Out of curiosity, why are you giving the dog away? Are you switching to plotts by chance? There's a man in Canada that sells the best plott lines available, which is saying alot.

hell no. I wouldnt have a plot on the place. Only blueticks. I was getting rid of her because I am in to full camerons only and i took her from a guy that wasnt hunting her and put her on some game them found a home when I needed room for my new cameron female.

Fair enough, if you change your mind let me know. Once you go black you'll never go back.

release....you should look at some of the polls on this site about preferred breeds. Usually walkers take 1st, blueticks take 2nd and plotts take a close 3rd with just about 1/2 the votes blueticks get. So unless you have anything useful to add to a post, i wouldnt waste your time trying to convince anyone to switch to plotts.

drew... I'm not trying to irritate anybody. I assumed pointing people in the right direction was making good use of my posts. As far as preferred breeds, what you have posted doesn't surprise me, other than plotts having 1/2 the votes of blueticks and still being a close third? I'm not sure I follow you.

As far as polls go, isn't Barack Hussein Obama leading in the presidential polls? Boy, I hope polls are as worthless as I think they are.

Release, there are some good plotts out there but if they were the ultimate big game breed then you guys wouldn't have to be all over this board trying SO hard to convince everyone of it

I myself am a plott man but I also have a bluetick that hates cats beyond belief, has a mouth that just screams he has gotten it, but my plotts more than give him competition. Bottom line is everyone has a preference and some breeds do it better for others, just like some guys like blondes, some like red heads and others don't even care if it has a pulse.

All true stories. I'm just pointing in what I believe to be the right direction, take it or leave it. Truth is in my opinion, if everybody had plotts there would be a lot less game in the hills for me to chase. lol

Release you are just silly...there's great dogs in every type and that is proven in individual dogs...I think anyone is a fool not to try walker, plott, whatever if it is a good dog. Tunnel vision usually proves itself to fools...(not saying you are, just a saying) And not meaning anything personal by any means--choices should be up to an individual is all I think...
On the other hand...nmplott I LOVE your reply and honesty! I've seen that about alot of guys for years...but not many actually admits it's true! (not meaning you, of course!) Just in general! Well hell I have to admit...I've met a few women that feel the same sometimes and not meaning me!

holy... I should have kept my mouth shut about not having a plot on the place. When you have something that clicks and works why change it . Thats how I got into Camerons. I guess I could have been into any breed if i had of tried something and they worked as good. I m not saying camerons are the best but they have been the best for me by far.

I think I'm color blind and I certainly have tunnel vision. I guess I've just hunted with too many other colored hounds and heard their owners giving the same excuses when they are not at the bear tree that it's hard to look past. All your posts are very informative and thought provoking though. Thank You!

And thats just it. it is all about who you hunt with. I'm sure there are good plotts out there, but aside from a field trial i have yet to see one perform in our area. Not saying much though, just havent been around a lot of plotts out hunting. However i have been around enough dogs to know not to put any one breed down. Seen great dogs in every color and would be proud to own any of them, regardless of breed.

so an ad about a free dog became a debate about breed preferance.
