Salmon poisoning is a disease unique to the west coast but is easily cured with antibiotics.Penicillin use to be the drug of choice but has become ineffective .Most of us use tetracycline now.The problem is i tried to order some through the dog supply catalogues today and they tell me its been discontinued .I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars at the veterinarian so does anyone know where i can get tetracycline?

Purchased it at Wilco last winter under the name Terramycin (oxytetracyclene). Worked for me last winter. My dad also purchased it at his local feed store. They keep it on hand for Scours in cattle. Pills are a little big but dogs got them down. Good luck. Have to keep it on hand if your hunting the Oregon coast.

Thanks Larry ,I appreciate your help .I think a lot of a good veterinarian but they are so expensive that we have to doctor our own dogs as much as we can.As you said i like to have it on hand before i need it.

Hey guys if you do need a vet I have been using the one in Veneta I know it's a little further for you than me I'm in junction city but I have been very happy with the cost. They don't rape you like everyone else if your dog needs a shot that's what you pay for not an exam too except fir heart worm, checkem out if you need one
