Hi, my DC40 has the red light fixed, I tried to do the collar software update: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HH7nsgXHQ_w but when it is updating (always at the same point, 8%), the updating ask for "retry", and "retry", and "retry"... how could I do?

8% is probably something wrong with the GPS section. with out much informaion You may need to send that back to Garmin. On a DC30 I would tell you to swap out the GPS chip for that and then update it.

But on the DC40's those are soldered on so they are not easily changed without damaging the board.

Thank you Buddy, but the guarantee is over, would Garmin change the collar? I don“t think so...

If the warranty is up I think it's a 90 dollars flat repair fee from Garmin. Garmin swaps them out with a Newly refurbished collar for that fee.

Your welcome to give us a call and we can see what options you have to get you in the woods. 855-384-8687

Sometimes we can get them working, and I have a entire box of Refurbished collars ready to swap out for our customers if you need something quicker than what Garmin can do.

When a collar gets refurbished does that include a new battery? Also my collars all have tuff skin antennas and new reflective collars. If I sent one in to swap out for a refurb would those items be switch or would I lose them?

Thanks
Randall

Take the antenna and collar strap off & keep the battery. All Garmin needs is the GPS/electronics housing. The refurbished units have new batteries.
