$175 average with high of $375 on a cat that was over 50 inch, this was told me by some trapper friends that sold their cats last week. Coyotes $20, that's a big difference between northern an southern hides.

900-1200?? have you actually sold cats at that price or just heard of someone? Typically the cat market comes one later in the year. Next week is utah's sale and we should have a pretty good feel for prices but I would expect them to be down from last year. How much is the question??

Silent,
I'm not trying to start an argument but all indicators are showing a substantially weaker fur market this year. Coyotes, coons, rats, mink, and fox are all being sold at 30% less this year. China has been riddled with fur issues and Russia has had an unusually warm winter. Both of these two are our biggest buyers, it has buyers here in the states very gun shy. I think your buddy is BSing you about the buyer from NAFA, NAFA is an auction house, they collect your fur, and then auction it at a few big auctions, once your fur is sold at auction they then mail you a check. They don't buy your fur outright. Fortunately there is still hope for the cat market as it typically doesn't start getting rolling until this weekend. I'm hoping for last years prices but am counting on them being down 20% - There's always something that I don't know but I have been following this years markets very close. Take it for what its worth.

Bobcats are down 50% based on Idahos sale last week. Top cat that was by far one of the best cats anyone had seen in several years only went for $775. Last year it would have easily sold for twice that. Our sale here in CO. is tomorrow.

Walker, no worries that is what he told me he was going to get for them. Hope he is right because half is mine ! So he will cough it up one way or the other.. Also just got done with the latest issue of fur fish and game it says pretty much the same as I stated earlier, I'm counting on it because I have concentrated on canines this year. Being that are lovely state screwed me out of my cat tags this year..

I just read where the guy that sold Joe Namath his coyote coat he wore to the super bowl says business is booming since sunday! Lmao
I find it very funny everytime these liberal tree huggin pussys raise a stink about something it backfires on them. Sure wish i would of bought some S&W stock a couple of years ago.
So maybe coyote prices will spurt up some more this season.

So before anyone thinks that some bobcats went for thousands of dollars. Remember to divide the quantity sold into the price you see. That'll give you the average.

Looking at the utah sale cat prices are at least 40% down this year. They had some 1300 dollar cats last year.It does look like yote prices held and may be a little higher than last year.
