My pup is 7 months he will run coons bye him self but wont leave my side with older dogs while running lions I know he is young but is there any way to make him more comfortable?

Does he know the older dogs? I have dogs that won't hunt with strange dogs until they get use to them. Yes he is young,give him a couple months and he will probably be going fine.

Most of them hes around quite a bit

Patience is a virtue, this addage applies to dog owners of pups as well.


Its hard, but just give him time.

Sounds as if he might have had a run in with one of the older dogs. Any chance of that ever happening...

Well he did better he ran a full race on a bobcat and treed on him but only ran half race on lion but walked him to tree and he treed

I would also add in a few things...

1. Set him up to win. Don't just ship him with the old dogs and expect him to follow. Start him out first, giving him a good honest chance to know for sure what you want and giving him a chance to start the track. Once he tells you what he's going to do, then let the older dogs out.

2. Given the opportunity, walk a fresh track out with just him. It may take miles and miles, but when you jump the cat, he'll go. It only takes one or two good setups and you'll have a dog. It takes even less poor setups to make yourself a lot of work to fix him.
