Anyone from NC on here? I am interested in getting into running foxes/coyotes. I have been a coon hunter for years but the running dogs have peaked my interest.

I'm in the western part of the state got a couple blueticks and a running walker I'm planning to start on coyote not many people run on the outside that I know of. the only help I've got from the pen guys is they're willing to sell you a dog lol, but don't buy unless you see them run lol some of the deer doggers get rid of a few that won't take interest in a deer but I haven't tried any of those yet

I think I ran into you on the UKC forum. Stay in touch, I would love to hunt some time.

Ranger, I live on the east coast and I hunt fox/bobcats and I also hunt coyotes. I have a pack of dogs for each. My cat and fox dogs don't mess with the yotes and my yote dogs don't mess with fox or cats... I have just started yote hunting since Dec. of this year and I went out west and got some dogs already broke to hunt with. There is always some broke dogs for sale on several websites but you may have to weed thru the ones and try and pick what is best for you. When I first got back with mine it was 3 or 4 weeks before they started to satisfy me because where they came from the only thing that hit them in the face was the wind and when they got down here it was briars and bushes. They have adapted well now and we catch maybe 2/3 and shoot the other third and as of rite now we have eliminated 20 yotes. My purpose with the yote hunting was to eliminate them because between the pens and yotes our fox population has declined tremendously. Time will tell if it helps! Good luck!
