Scratching Post?

This is a 15" diameter Cedar that I saw while cruising a timber sale. It looks like the cedar in my yard that the house cats have sharpened their claws on except on a bigger scale. The scratching goes up to a height of 3 1/2 feet. I saw several others in that cedar swamp that were scratched up the same way. Has anybody else seen this and do you think it's from a bobcat?

I am surprised that no one has commented on this post. Yes bobcats do use trees, sign post and power poles for scratching posts. I have seen many through the years of hunting following my dogs. I have also seen a couple of ones done by cougars. Dewey

I have seen these also. I watched a tom scratch and then turn and spray one while deer hunting a few years ago. I came back with a friend and he put a trail cam on it and he got pics of 4 different cats working the scratching post.
