I seen some of you fellers using deer carcasses but if you can't get them what else do you use to get them into trail cam range

We aren't using carcasses to lure a lion into the trail cam. We are finding a kill site and setting a camera up on the kill. Click on the link to see some video of lions feeding on kills.

I would not think you are going to find many in N.C. Out here I set my T.C on every scratch point and will get a pic in 7 to 28 days most times!!1

Tie a live goat out and not feed it and hope it does a lot of bleating as it starves, by the 6th goat you might get one to come in. (Just kidding) I don't believe there is a way to bait a lion in except maybe electronic calls.

Never tried but would think you could build a marker pile and spray it with mt. Lion urine. Ive seen it for sale at fur harvesters trading post online, not sure if they still sell it. If not there are several lures and bait they sell that I know will work.

I plan on setting up my trail cams out mid summer. Last year I had a half of a picture of a nice tom lion in one of my trail cam pictures, only capturing the last half of this huge tom got me to thinking how to catch the whole lion....I'm going to set up my cameras a little different than last year to capture passing game such as a 6 pt bull elk captured in one of my cameras.....I plan on using scent in a cubby type set such as those used to trap a bobcat and place the camera in the back tied to the tree looking out towards a high use game trail location....I should capture the pictures of passing ungulates with little interest in the scent and possibly hold the attention of an investigating bear or lion....I figure this out? I will post some pictures...Last year I had two cameras out and got some amazing pictures....I thought it would be cool to have a competition for best trail camera pictures during the fall season and voting here on bgh to determine the best picture captured...Possibly get Buddy or others on board with some hunting supply sponsored goods to win and make it fun.
What do we all think? Should an attempt be made to do this?

Mike

Zach
No pm in my box.
Dean, if I'm going to compete with that picture, I better get the whole lion in the frame.

I think this will be a blast!

I get better bear pictures than anything...Guess we are doing Mountain lion only or just the coolest trail cam picture?

I like the idea of posting animals that are alive better than dead.

Dean-Zach-Thomas

I'm just tossing this out right now...I would love to see a category for all species of game so some of would not have to compete against Dean or clb to save us from being  .....and a possible small entry fee to cover any cost associated? Looking for input and then I will call Buddy and see how this could possibly work. Should be engineered for fun and keep the board alive and hoping.

Thanks!
