Attaching rigging points to dog box

Was wondering what would be the best way to attach rigging points/railings to a wooden dog box?

Duct tape and bailing wire. I mean eye bolt's for attaching your rig chain's, and bolt a flat metal strap around the top edge and then weld a railing off of it.

My old dogbox had no rails... I hunted with it for about 6 years like that..
I ran a cargo strap over the top of the box which also helped hold it down.. I put a couple knots in the cargo strap to keep my couplers from slider.. I would put a coupler in between the knots and hook up your dog
I could rig 3 easy without the rails... It worked fine..
Here is an example.. I was actually taking a picture of the pup who was protesting rigging in the rain

Have you ever put any carpet up on top of your box, it will keep them from slidein around and saves there bones when it super cold. It's not so bad on the young dog it's the older ones I always worry about.

There is carpet up there... I generally use indoor/outdoor carpet and they don't slid around...

I have a rial that i welded up the bolted to the top of my box then welded 4 chains to it. But and I bolt with chains off the fronf center works too.

how high does everyone suggest for a rig rail, is there a minimum?

mine is about 14" tall (just high enough to hit there chest)

The taller the better it will keep them from going over the side and hangging them selves. I like to put a cross bar about 7"-8" up then top rail 14"-18" tall. Also if you weld the I-bolts on to the underside of the top rail it will keep them from driving it into there chest if you stop fast. I make a frame out of angel iron that fits the top of the box then weld my railing to that. Then just get some good selftapping galvanized screws to hold it down to the top of the box. I use about 5-10 screws per side just make sure they are not to long where they go into the box they can really cut up the dogs.
And if your going to put carpet on the top find the best quailty marine carpet you can get. It will make your box last much longer. The carpet I use I get from a marine supply shop and I have been told by a man that I trust it has lasted on his box sence 1985. And I can tell you he hunts hard all year and lives where it snows a lot 6 months out of the year.
