astro 220

I bought a used garmin 220 and when I go hunting I have to relearn the collars each time before I can track them.am I doing something wrong?i have never used one and may be hitting the wrong button thanks for any help

I also use a 220 and this is all I do when I start.
1-Let the Astro sync up. 2- Hit menu, hit menu again. Should bring up a screen with Advanced & Start new hunt. Choose Start new hunt and answer the questions. Yes, start new hunt, marking the truck is your choice. Then go to one of the main screens, such as Dog.
I also hit menu one time from let's say Dog screen, this should give you a menu that has Calibrate Compass on it, choose that one and follow the steps to calibrate the compass.
I never do anything else and am ready to start tracking and begin hunting. Hope this helps.
