Anyone have plans for a dog house made out of wood with a removable top. What kind of dog house would you suggest for MT ? Thanks in advance for the help.

This was from a previous post off of this site. I have made 3 this summer and they work well. Plan on insulating them soon before the snow starts flying

I have built dog houses using this basic pattern for over 30 years. My father got it from some sled dog guys. No insulation needed in my climate.
I used to use 3/4 inch plywood but now use 5/8. Need to account for the dimension of the plywood in the exact cuts so that it goes together right. Also account for the "Curf" of the saw in your measurements so everything goes together "tight".
I use 2x2s I rip from scrap lumber on the interior of all joints.
I glue all the joints and liberally use drywall screws
I put 2x4 runners down the two sides on the bottom, and hold them a little in from the edges so the water drains by.
I put 4x4 blocks on the 2x4 runners just to get the boxes off the ground.
I have changed the dimensions a little to narrow the house, but provide for a longer top to get more "overhang".
I don't make a removable top, when I need to clean them I just dump everything out the front and hose them out the door.
I also cut the door out of the front smaller than you would first think. The dogs will chew it wider.
Biggest problem is the dogs chew the corners of the top. When they chew them enough they start leaking, I scab on a scrap piece of scrap plywood on top.
