alpha compass calibration

When i try to calibrate the compass on my alpha it performs the 1st 2 steps fine, but when i get to the 3rd step where you have to flip it over end for end it never works and comes up calibration unsuccessful. I always make sure to start with unit level and ive varied the speeds of which i turn it over with no success. All updates have been done with no change to problem. It hasnt really been a big issue because when even though it reads calibration unsuccessful the compass seems to work fine after only completing 2 of the 3 steps. Just thought i would post to see if anyone else has had this.
