Random Acts

I want to take a minute to acknowledge something that happens quite often and goes unnoticed....It's called random acts of kindness. Big Game Houndsmen are some of the most giving of themselves...

Some time back a young Service man made a plea in the classifieds, looking for a bluetick hound pup for transitioning back to civilian life after his deployment has ended later this year from a tour in Afghanistan. It didn't take long for Rodney Smith to step up and offer a pup from his scheduled planned breeding, while another contributor offered a pup but was hit with disaster, all but one pup had died from the litter thwarting his desire to donate a pup to the cause.

I become friends with Dylan Dover and now proud to call him a friend, we message back and forth frequently from abroad. The other day Dylan sent me a picture of his six month old Bluetick Hound pup given to him by Robin Powell, free of charge now in the hands of Dylan's father who is caring for this fine young hound until Dylan returns home.

Last year another Bluetick houndsmen, Thomas Witherspoon from Elgin Oregon offered up a pup to an aspiring youth hunter whom he never met before at the bobcat gathering.

Folks, for the record? This is the type of class found right here!
Thanks to each and every one who stepped up making a difference in the lives of others!

Dylan, stay safe and thank you for your service!

Yes me and the young man worked out a deal. I will be honest the young man paid 100 dollars of his own hard money which was donated to OUSDA. That was my original intent from the beginning of going down there with the pup.

Mike, I am just now seeing this post. I really appreciate the kindness of everyone that has offered up a pup and am very excited to get home and hit the woods again. Won't me too much longer and I will be able to start working with my new dogs! Thanks again to everyone who offered up a pup. I really appreciate it!
