I know of the coonhound magazines(american cooner, full cry, etc.) Does anyone know of a publication that is mostly about hunting game , not bloodlines? Thanks.

Do you mean a mag about a specific type of game?there's a magazine called bearhunter magazine.It's mostly spot and stalk,but there's usually one or two good articles about bear hunting with hounds.I don't know if that's what you were looking for

there was one being printed down in utah. Not the size of any of the others like bloodlines, full cry or cooner. I gave serious thought to publishing one and gathering up stories, field editors and advertisement but it would require alot more time and dedication then I have to spend.

I think a quality mag could make it as long as it stayed clear of the same mistakes Full Cry made and that was "Tree Dog Enthusiasts". Houndmen want to see Hound Dogs treeing big game. I think more stories would be submitted then Full Cry is receiving, IMO.

It was Western Houndsman I think I dont know if it is around any more.Spankys right about the Full Cry.

It was Western Houndsman and sorry to say it's not around anymore. I have given some thought to bring something like it back also. Maybe a bi-monthly publication.

Neal Roberts was publishing the "Western Houndsmen" and did a fine job at it. He was soaking tons of money and time in it and wasnt getting the subscriptions up to where it needed to be to fund itself. He folded it and now is working with the Utah federation of Houndsmen (UFH) on a mag just like his but is called "Hound". There is one issue out and it will be coming out quarterly. I personally think we all should support all types of hound publications. It takes guys like you that want a mag to make it work. I know for sure it cost a lot of money and takes a lot of time to make it work. I was a neighbor to Neil and hunted with him too if he could have kept getting more subscriptions to grow even slowly he would have kept it going. Now he is donating his talent and time to the UFH to offer the magazine you guys talk about. So please get ahold of the UFH and subsribe to a magazine thats emphasizes on "BIGGAME".

Full Cry is the best magazine around for anyone interested in big game articles and hunting.

Does anyone know if there's some way I can buy some copies of that "western houndsmen"... Also how I can subscribe to "hound"?
