Many dogs with Brandenburger in the pedigree are very good dogs. Brandenburger bought and sold so many dogs of different backgrounds over the years, I have trouble calling them a line, or family of dogs. Some have started families and lines from dogs that had the Brandenburger name on the papers that are good dogs. Many of the Brandenburger dogs lost the old cur traits of the early plotts and suddenly took on themselves the "blood hound" look and lost the chop mouth plott bark for a bawl mouth hound sound. The flag tails, short ears, working as a pack traits vanished in most of the Brandenburger dogs.
