Hi, my name is Bram DeVries I am new to the forum, but I have visited the site many times. I have a question for u guys and gals from wisconsin. I hunted in the clam lake area with the wildcat group last summer and am currently running a little closer to home this year due to the cost of gas. I have been hunting in the Lanes near rock dam in the clark county forest.
Now heres the scoop after this bear season I am starting a job in Baldwin wisconsin twenty miles from the minnesota boarder, and next summer when bear season roles around I need a place to hunt near there. I dont know where exactly u can hunt in that region and am looking for some options.
If there is anyone hunting around the cumberland area or close by, I was wondering how much land there is to hunt in the area, How many people are hunting there, and how bad are the wolves. I have my own pack of dogs, but if there is anyone looking for someone to hunt with give me a holler.
I have an older start dog with a few young dogs that have been on over 35 bear trees so far and still counting. They arent the greatest dogs in the world but they hunt hard. I have been hunting for a little over four years. I started running coon around the farm in neillsville when I was fifteen. two years ago I started running bear, and had no clue what I was getting into. None of my coon dawgs did it for me anymore so I started with some pretty good bear and bobcat blood lines and put a few pups to work. They are doing great for there age but arent the best for fighting yet! they have been on a few caught bear but yesterday they were on a 300lb bear and after two hours of getting charged at they came of. This I hope will change after kill season. My old dog is eight and the two pups are a year old and the other is a year and three months old. I also have a pair of two month old pups that will be ready to roll for next year. I hope someone can help me out.
thanx for any help
