I've been told that after an update to both the DC50 and Alpha 100 unit the DC50 can be paired with the Alpha. Is this true? If so, I'm having trouble doing it. Need help.
Thanks,

I can't believe nobody has anything on this thread. Can a DC 50 collar be ran with the alpha unit?

You can not pair a DC 50 with a alpha system

I heard the same thing gamegetter. If I'm not mistaken, the update wasn't to be released until the end of July so take that for what it's worth...

Perk, I knew I would have to come to the rescue. LOL
This is what I found on the Garmin site. It was at the bottom of the add for DC 50's as a footnote.
¹The DC 50 is compatible with the Astro 320 and Astro 430 handhelds only (software upgrade required). It does not work with Astro 220 or Alpha® handhelds

Just got off the phone with Garmin. And to answer my own question and to correct everyone else, YES the DC50 collars can tracked with the Alpha. Here's the problem. To track a collar on the Alpha or Astro 430 there is a 4 digit pin assigned to the collar. Unlike the dc30, dc40 and non updated dc50s which use an ID number instead.
To load a dc50 collar into the Alpha system, first both the Alpha and dc50 collar must be updated to the newest software update.
Here's the tricky part. Once the updates are completed, the dc50 collar must be loaded into a Astro 430 to gain the 4 digit pin and then shared to the Alpha unit. Doesn't seem right to me that Garmin would do this or they could find another way to make this happen.
Anyway, I guess the bigger question here is does any of my local hunting buddies have an Astro 430 I can barrow for a couple of minutes?....lol
