My boss phoned me today. He said "Is everything OK at the office?"

I said "It is all under control. It's been a very busy day. I haven't
stopped to take a break all day."

"Can you do me a favor?" he asked.

I said "Of course, what is it?"

"Pick up the pace a little. I'm in the foursome behind you."

Don't know why but that reminded me of the time we lost a dog deer hunting one weekend. A man called the house Sunday night that lived near the woods and said he had it at his house. Daddy told me as soon as I got out of school Monday to go get it. When I got to the school parking lot that morning and told my buddies we decided to skip school and go get it. Figured we might as well take some more dogs and hunt since we would already be there. When we got to the mans house he said my granddaddy just left there with the dog. Granddaddy caught us coming out the road by the mans house and said we might as well hunt. Well we jumped a deer and I was standing on the clay road at a good crossing and low and behold my daddy and his boss came driving up. Daddy said the man told him he was the third person in the last hour that came to get that dog. Daddy said what are you doing. I said were running a deer it just turned toward the double hills and there's nobody over there. Daddy and his boss tore out toward the double hills. We hunted all day, nothing was ever said about it and mama or granny never knew we had all bailed from work and school with all of it unplanned. I knew granddaddy would be cool but boy I thought I was dead though when I saw daddy drive up to me.
