We took the dogs out Sunday for a last hunt while Mike and his brother Curtis were visiting. We had a good strike and turned out the dogs, They had a bear treed in short order, it was almost anticlimactic they had it treed so quickly. here are some photos.

Very cool Ray, looking foward to more photos and stories down the road. You fellas just got that bear season for hounds a few years back, right?

Hi Scott, We've had the fall kill season all along, what's new is some summertime running without all the kill happy types running around. My season now runs 1 July to 31 December, although 99% of bears are in for the winter by mid- October, and once wolf trapping starts up there's no safe place to run. In Alaska the Fish and Game Area Biologist sets the hound seasons- when I ran in Unit 13 up north the hound season was year round. ( but you still only have five months when bears are out!) Really pleased with the dogs- only got dusted on 3 of Bender's starts this season ( so far- watch the train wrecks roll in now!) My buddy Mike just left for Arkansas with his Dixie Daisy dog, so he'll peg any wrecks to her not being here. She left with a belly full of Bender pups due 25 September- those unborn pups have already made a pile of bear trees!
