Big crack call me we will talk.
There are a lot more big bears than people think but i for one have not caught a lot of big bears ( #350 plus ) just a handfull in 15 years but seen pictures of many of the bears Catch has caught and yes it was hard to believe he has caught that many till i saw the proof. But proof he has.

Smiley as you know Idaho is closed, so my daughter will have to wait for next year.

I just returned from California and caught a real nice 350 lb. bear for a guy. The Outfitter turned the lights off on a 300 lb. and a 600 lb. bear. The 600 lb. bear brought back some good times of those 500 Lb. I have caught and killed in Idaho. Those big bears are like skinning a Buffalo, it seems like the hide just never stops. I'm going to take a week off and then head for Canada.

Oh BIG Track, I hunt in the mountains. Go find your own 500 Lb. bear and then try to tree it!!

Take Care and gooooood luck!

Ike I'm going for bear. I have a friend that I hunt with, visit, and just relax. I don't take dogs, he has a few so I just go for the ride!

Well thank you for that nice complement.

I always thought everyone was catching them. Since I'm the only one catching them I must be better than I thought.

Thank you Wisconsin Walker!!!
Take Care and good luck in you travels.

Hate to burst everyone's bubble, but there ain't a big surplus of 500lb bear in WI. In fact I don't know of one shot this year in our area off hand.

Heck 400s are damn tough to find, as are the 300s. 250s were even pretty darn rare on the days a guy could hunt, IN the areas a guy can hunt.

Wes lansin's 16 year old daughter shot one near Timberland that dressed 485#, with hounds. Eric Greiner's group got one that tipped the scales at 532# live weight, dressed at 462#. They were weighing it in when we weighed ours in that dressed at 385#. There was a woman that shot one over bait with a bow near Cameron that dressed 553#

Last year my dad shot one that dressed 476#

So there are some 500# bear walking around in wisconsin........

No BS I seen a sow and two cubs playing in a picked corn field tonight on the way home from work. I would guess the sow around 350 /400

Now Nolte. If there are 50lb coon in Wis. there has to be 500Lb. bear.

I realize that the 50Lb. Wis. coon is 1000 times stronger than a 500Lb. bear but, there has to be 500Lb bear in Wis!!!

Lets ask the expert about 500Lb. bear. Dan, Dan, Ole Dan, what do you think??????

There's more 500 pounders in Idaho than "Most doggers" know about.
I know some guys that have been hunting dogs in the panhandle for 20 years, and they claim there's nothing over 400. But then again, if it doesn't tree, they never see it, their dogs mysteriously always end up back on the road. And they are rarely seen during pursuit/breeding season, because they aren't allowed to do their favorite thing, kill.
