Collar antenna support replacement?

Having trouble with antenna supports tearing up. Will replacing them with tape or shrink wrap or maybe bicycle inner tube harm anything or have bad effect on reception? Any suggestions?

We use electrical tape then slide bicycle inner tube over top of it over time the tube shreds and falls off so the tapes a nice insurance if it tears off during a hunt
