The three I know of off the bat are:

a. American Kennel Club
b. Continental Kennel Club
c. United Kennel Club (international)

In terms of American Foxhounds and their related breeds:

The AKC recognizes as hound breeds in their own respective right:

1. American Foxhound
2. Treeing Walker Coonhound

The CKC recognizes:

1. American Foxhound
2. Treeing Walker Coonhound
3. Running Walker Foxhound

The UKC recognizes:

1. American Foxhound
2. Treeing Walker Coonhound

If I ever do in my lifetime get some kind of American Foxhound or a Walker of some kind, it is has to be a registered purebred and registered with a reputable organization of some kind.

I will not settle for mongrels or unpapered "grade" animals.

My first phase of hound education will be understanding hound breeds and standards as well as the correct organizations for registering PUREBRED hunting hounds.

I need to read a book called "Hunting Hounds for Dummies 101" or "The American Hound Bible", maybe.

I'm definitely going to look at the Hound Books tab here before too long.

Those papers that you will be requiring on those dogs will only be as good as the multitude of people that have been filling them out for decades. But hey, there are no dishonest people in the hound world. Good luck in your search

For Coonhounds the reputable registries are UKC, AKC and PKC.
CKC is not a reputable registry for any breed. They will put papers on anything, including made up designer dogs, like "Doodles"

Maybe someone should start a “MONGRELS” registry that way we could adopt any hunting hound in to it that’s grade or cross bred that way they would have papers, which we all know would make them hunt harder, not to mention all that extra money on the papered pups
Unfortunately the non-hunting show people could still figure out a way to ruin the breed
