Anybody have any opinions on which utv is best for a hunting rig? I would be hauling 5 dogs at times. Overall reliability, and stability with a dog box in back concern me the most. Thanks

Not sure what size machine you are looking for but for a 50" trail model, I dont think the pioneer 500 can be beat. We run ours with tracks in the winter and the 500cc motor has no problem turning them. It is shaft driven as opposed to a belt so no burning up belts like we always did with our Polaris Rzr. We bought ours 2 winters ago and have over 11,000 trouble free miles on it. It is no speed machine but for hunting out of full time you dont need to go fast.

Pioneer 1000. I hunt between 8000-12000 ft. Get the biggest machine you can afford. 500 or 700cc isn’t enough at higher elevations. My buddy uses a Ranger and has to replace the belt at least once or twice every season.

Honda Honda Honda! Shaft driven and will go wherever you aim it. Can Am is a good machine but I'm sure cost is a lot higher. My honda starts hot or cold weather. EVERY POLARIS I've been on has been harder to start in the cooler temps.

Thanks for the insight. Anyone have a dog box in the bed of the Honda's with the folding seats? If so, does it work fine? Thank you

What about clearance on the Honda verses the razor or say the can am shafts and belts can't make much difference if your hung up on a rock or beaver stump how much clearance does a Honda 500 pioneer have

Burning belts is just a myth that people running shaft drive machines tell you. That’s why 99% of the machines out there are running belt drive now as well as all the big horsepower snowmobiles. I’ve put thousands of miles on a Polaris ranger with tracks and now a a Can am defender with tracks and there is zero issues with the belts in fact I’ve never had to even change one belt. And that’s hard miles deep snow and some extreme cold weather.
