controling fleas in a large kennel?

what are you guys using to control fleas in a large kennel? i have used a vet prescribed pill that is 65 bucks that covers them for 3 months but with summer coming up looking to see if there any other way to go about this at little more friendly price with a larger pack of dogs? Thanks!

use diatomaceous earth and spread it around the perimeter of the kennel its a white food grade powder that helps prevent fleas, ticks etc
