From the left Bow, John and Jesse Green (cousin John behind the camera)

I just returned from seven days of running bears in the great state of New Hampshire with my brother and his family, what a blast! We treed five bears and ended up taking this male on the last day. Saw some really good dog work including one of the dogs latching on as a bear wheeled around to climb and being pulled up into the tree about 15 feet! Fortunately he landed on a pretty steep slope and got back in the game pretty quickly.
It was a special hunt for me as I was able to use the model 94 shown in the picture. This is the same gun that my dad used before he died and the same one my brother used for years to shoot plenty of game with as well. Hopefully, some of the younger generation of the family will use it as time goes by and they have the urge to carry on the heritage!

One Green : Glad to hear you are keeping up the family tradition .my father had a lever 35 remington caliber last 2 years before He died shot a deer and a bear . Before passing he asked that I take the gun and pass it down to the next generation. I took my first deer and bear with it .gave it to my son he got his first deer and bear with it and finally my grandson shot a crouch horn last november and a bear this september with it . All the bears were with hounds. Hopefully I will live to see the day that a 5th generation can accomplish the same . Thanks DAD I know you'd be proud. I really miss him this time of year.

Hey Steve, John cannot post on here for some reason but he wanted to let you know that they had a bear treed when you left about a mile or so back between 250 and 300 pounds. Of course, as you could see walking into a tree in that country entails going straight up or straight down 90% of the time! He said the puppy is getting along just fine and thanks again. I hope to see him work some magic when I am up there next fall!
