Cold nose is a term that basically means can locate and run an older track, cold nose is also subject to interpretation, such as too me a cold nose hound is a hound that can run a track that is at least 12 hours old, and a hot nose would be a few hours old but it varies on who you talk to and it doesn't me that I am right or wrong its just my preferance. As to your question of breed, each breed can run lions and bobs, but find a breeder that has proven dogs on the game you want and go from there.

A hound had absolutely better be quiet in the kennel. You need to get around some real hound guys whose dogs have manners so you can see how it is spose to look. I gave you a name earlier, and there are few better at training hounds.
Thank you
