There used to be quite a few in Wyoming. Dean Caroll in Riverton had one going with night hunts. Need to get ahold of him or Donna Klindt. They know the goings ons about that one in Riverton if it is still happening. There was some lads around Sheridan that were putting on some field trials and such, but I don't think they have done them in the last couple years. One thing about Wyoming houndsmen, we are kinda loners when it comes to hunting and our hounds. Where are you in Wyoming?

I think Dean and those guys still keep wyoming hunting dog alive still, but Donna dosen't have anything to do with it anymore. Jim kemmel might still have Wind River houndsman going but I have not heard anytrhing out of them in a few years. There are still acouple of Nite Hunts going in Worland I think.

Ellsbury,
This is Brad's wife, the pup we got from you is getting huge!! 39# at 5 months!!
We have wanted to get to the night hunts in Worland but summer is crazy for us. Brad has all the cat hunting gear ready to rock and roll for after the holidays.

Guys,
I think it would be a good idea to organize a unified statewide club, if for nothing else to fight anit's in the near future, because you know an assuault will come like it has with other western states. It would be to our advantage to get organized and secure funding ahead of time. Another thing a statewide club could work for is attempting to reinstate pursuit of black bear with hounds. Just a thought ... would anyone else be interested ? I don't have the time or resources to spearhead the effort but I would definately support the notion.

A pursuit season would be good. One area I hunt is open year round anyway, but they kill so many lions out of the area it's not time effective to spend alot of time dry ground, but it would be nice to have pursuit in other areas where quotas fill quickly.
So your saying you've talked to game wardens in favor of pursuit season, just curious why a warden would care about a pursuit season, unless they run hounds themselves. We had one around here that ran his hounds on the job using our tax dollars, so a touchy topic. Anyway I just think a statewide houndsman organization could do some good promoting regulation revisions, similar to what bowhunters of wyoming (BOW) have done. I know it would be a challenge unifying houndsmen, but better to do it now rather than later when our rights come under attack.
