Good job Ike. I have to go in the morning and try my dogs on some dry ground. A cougar killed a nieghbours horse 2 todays ago and they just called me tonight. Should be interesting as it will be the dogs first dry ground run. Hope my mutts perform like yours did.

Nice job, Ike. I had my mutts out on Tuesday. They struck and headed for the ledges. After a while I called em off and worked our way down the ridge with no luck. Out here in the Great Salt Lake Desert, we need them Gods to show us a little also.

Yup, a guy does need a little help from the hunting gods from time to time. So did you have a lion going or bobcat?
I went out the other day for a few hours looking for a bober. The day old snow was about gone but I found several tracks, put three dogs out and they ran the track better in the snow than on the dirt. These days I just don't have the tolerance for a slow track.....cause if those dogs want to stay out they better start warming things up pretty fast or I call'em back as well...........
Bout the only way I'll stay on a slow lion track is if I have a client and the track shows killer tom or I just don't have anything better to do.
Better luck on the the next trip,
ike
