Hey guys I dont spend much time posting around this place but I just wanted to let everyone know of a vet that I have been using here in happy valley utah. His name is Duff Coleman and I cant imagine anyone better out there, he is an older guy that knows the difference of a hound or animal and a human. my wife had a dog that needed a c section the other day and I couldnt believe what some of the vets wanted to do it, I walked away from colemans office spending a 10th of what the others wanted. Makes no difference to me if oyu give him a try but hes a hell of a good guy and knows his stuff and charges a fraction o the others. If you want his info shoot me a pm.

Jordan-

Do you know where this Dr. Coleman is from? Is he new to your area? If he is the vet that use to be here in Washington State, you guys in Utah are very lucky. We use to have a Dr. Coleman here for years and he moved some time ago- was just not sure where. He has worked on many hounds over the years and is outstanding- Not to mention his fees. If I lived within 10 hours of you, that is where I would bring my hounds. A person could not say enough good things about him if this is the same guy. Please let me know if it is. Thanks

It is without question the same vet that you had in washington. He is now probably quite a bit older but still one hell of a vet. I sat in the back room when he was cutting my wifes dog open and tlked hounds. He told me all sorts of stories of the hounds that he patched back up in the northwest. I couldnt believe how cheap he was and the quality of work he does. He doesnt see a whole lot of hounds now and sure misses it, he made the statement that working on a chewed up hound was always the most interesting.

Jordan theres no way to pm you? Whats his info, cause my vet is reasonably price and really good and was giving me a good break cause me and her husband have worked together for years. But she is so dang busy unless you have an emergency or I can talk to her personally she is booked out a month to month and a half. I have had to go to a few other vets and they are high priced on top of being tree hugers that dont understand our way of life. I hate feeling that I'm breaking my loyalty to her but its hard as all get out to find a good vet that will work on hounds that really know what there doing. I also dont like when you have a dog with a problem that you have seen fixed before and these lap dog vets want to split atoms and try all this new stuff that doesnt work and you wind up doing what you suggested in the first place but still get charged for all the rocket science crap that didnt work. That is one good thing about the vet I have now I had a dog that stayed with her for almost a month and almost died. The gals at the front desk were totoling the pages of charges and when she got to the second page and the total would have bought a nice used car there was a note to get the vet. She came out and just charged me room, board and feed for that time that wasnt even a fraction of the cost. She said she had messed up thats why and would and still wont to this day pay her for that. Unfortunately she is the only vet in her office and cant get any good help to help her that is why she is so booked up. She doesnt take any new clients and if you havent seen her in a while your sol. So if this guy is as good as your saying and he is accepting new clients let me know, I know there will be a lot more guys intrerested too.

Thanks for the information Jordan. Here in the pacific northwest our underbrush is really dense and we have a lot of bears that bay up. A guy would have gone broke or had many dead dogs if it wasn't for Dr. Coleman. All the hound guys around here really miss him and his work. Didn't ever get a chance to thank him for all he has done for my hounds before he closed his doors and moved. If you see him please let him know I said hello and that the houndmen on the kitsap pennisula say hello also. He is definately one of a kind and has worked on hundreds of top notch hounds. Your hounds are in the hands of the best Vet around. Lucky for you Utah hounds and houndmen. Hope you all have a successful hunting season.

Been lucky and haven't needed one-knock on wood :D . Most of the problems I have had I treated myself, but not sure who I would use. Any suggestions would be helpful. Maybe I would have to drive to Utah then hunt while I was there - I may not move back to this backward State of ours if this were to happen.

Darvin-

Its to bad that in life people dont take the time to pay that kind of a compilment to others. I am sure that it will do doc Coeman some good to hear that.

Thanks,

Jordan
