problem finding tracks in new area

I'm having a problem finding lion tracks in a new area. i've looked in the division of wildlife cd's to see previous kill sites as a starting point. I've looked for scrapes, travel routes and markers, all with no luck. I usually put on 30-40 miles with a 4-wheeler plus walk in area's that are not accessable to motorized vehicles. I hit these area's every weekend. I have some young dogs that are showing much promise but can't finish them out if not able to get them on game. I was wondering from more experienced hunters what to look for in a new area. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Find the deer - find the cats.

welder, where are you hunting, what gmu? The info on the kill locations are pretty much bogus. Most guys I know don't tell the dow the exact location where they are hunting. Why let everyone else know where to go after you've worked hard to find them. This goes for sheep, goats, lions, etc.
