March 6 bobcat

Didn't make it too far on this mornings walk, usualy do 4-5 miles with my dogs, but today we made it about 1/4 mile before Jake got on the trail of this guy.
I always free cast because I can almost never seem to find tracks of any kind except deer and dogs, ground is so hard and rocky or coverd in leaf litter. I saw Jake take off smelling the ground but had no idea what he was on as usual. He had it up in around 10 mins after finding the trail. He only ran a few hundred yards, cats here just don't run that far. None have been more than 1/4 mile half circles before treeing, also Jake is totaly silent until he sees the cat so that could be part of why the short runs.
The bobcat was hidden in the brances so I had to get it to move tossing sticks at it didn't work so called the dogs back sat up hill from it where I could see I could see it start to climb back down. As soon as it started to move I let the dogs run back down to the tree.
It moved enough to let me see that it was a male, you may have to click on image to make it big enough to see as it was overcast day and pic came out dark
Added bonus I had a much clearer shot at the head.

This was an older male around 20lbs but super skiny no fat at all on him, bet he had kidney failure like that poor dead Jag Game and fish traped.
