I am looking for an alternative to bleach when sanitizing the ground in my kennel. The ground is bare( Not concrete) and I do not want to use bleach and I have seen ads for a safer method can't cant remember where I heard or seen it. Any ideas that would help?

I was reading your post, and my girlfriend uses a product called "Simple Green". I don't think anyone really uses it to clean dirt, but it is safe, non toxic, and biodegradable. Good luck!

I have heard that rock salt works great on dirt and rock. From what I understand it kill worm eggs also. I was told to spread it out and then get it damp 2 or three times if its not been raining. I guess this lets it seep into the ground.

I've used this in the past.

It's a biodegradable stall cleaner that uses enzymes to break down and sanitize the area. I have a rocky back yard and it helps get rid of the urine smell by eating it I guess. But it works well. There is also a product called Stall Safe that is a chemical disinfectant, but there are others that are more cost effective like Tek Trol which will kill pretty much any organism.

Either one should do what ya need.
