Hey guys. I'm new to the site and have been really enjoying reading all the stories and discussions.

I am wanting to buy a new training collar system. I was thinking that the trash breaker was the best there was, but a friend of mine saw the sportdog houndhunter 3200. Has anyone used both of these units and compared them? Which one is the one to buy?

Tri tronics by far... The sportdog 2500 is the next best thing ive seen. It has the tone button function like the tri tronics. The houndhunter 3200 doesnt have it..

Just my opinion.. I just went through the same thing recently that you are going through and i tried them all.

The trash breaker is my opion you can run six dog on it and once they get used to it you dont even have to shock them you just beep them.

I use the sportdog 3200 and I would suggest going with the tri tronics trash breaker as the sportdog does not have a beeper and I go through 9 volt batteries like crazy. Some batteries last for a month and others last a few days, you have no control of the battery charge and you always need an extra one on hand.

I would stick with Tri-Tronics as well. But I would go the Classic 70 route. You can get the six dog feature with it but it is cheaper. The difference is the range. The 70 is a mile range and the TB is a 2 mile range.

If u need to cut through timber of any thing I would reccomend the trash breaker. I have both trash breaker and classic 70. I had a dog in the box at about 350 yards yesterday could not get him with the 70. I got the other one with the trash breaker though.

Trashbreaker---no question.. the classic 70 actual range is more like 1/4 mile.. the trashbreaker claims 2 miles and I have tested mine over 1 mile thru a row of trees.

I just bought the g3 two weeks ago. Only difference from the g2 is the location of the controls is what my dealer told me. Check on the members only forum. buddy will get you a great deal. seems to be a nice guy also. I think it is under dual graphics? good price.

hey guys i was at a field trial this weekend and a guy had one of those g3s but he got the collars that light up with it.. we had a bear race after dark and after turning loose we could still here the dogs making there way up a ridge he hit that button and that collar light up and you could see it a long ways off i thought it was a neat option.. just another thing to add and i think its only 30 more per collar for it.
