When does a male stop producing Puppy Power

Does a male dog stop producing sperm at old age? Have a 13 year old dog want to breed and female will be coming in soon. 3 years ago we bred him to a female. she did not take. She was 8 but died about 2 years later. dont know if she was sick or not at time of heat?{cancer}

Some do, some don't , either take him to the Vet or just give it a try.

It is a simple test and relatively inexpensive to have him checked for live sperm. Some are sterile from birth, others produce to 14-15 years. Most seem to start shooting blanks about 10-12 years old. If pups from this female is critical at this point in time, checking the male will let you know in time to select another male if this one cannot produce any longer.
