Lucky sometimes

Well last season me and a buddy of mine went out one morning late about 9am or so after we got a about 1 inch of snow, well we already had drifts and old snow on the ground from earlier. Well this day it was warming up fast and water was running down the roads that led to where we wanted to go so we tried bogging around for about an hour but knew we just wasn't going to get where we wanted to get to. So we finally got back to the highway and I told him that he might as well take me back to work (I own my own buisness and he's a rancher) well on the way back we decided that we should let the dogs out for some excercise. There was this long tree strip next to the highway that had some grain bins in it so I thought the dogs might at least pick up an old coon track maybe and get some excercise. Well my friend made a phone call and got permission to run the strip. So not long after walking in the dogs started to sound off well it wasn't hot and heavy so I thought maybe a coon track well when we got up there I noticed alot of bunny tracks in the plum brush that grew on the south side of the strip. Well we walked a little further and sure enough I found a bob track well the dogs were coming towards us by now so we waited to see if that was what they were a tracking it was. Not to long latter the dogs started going hard my friend went with the dogs and I stayed put they were running on the north side of the strip and the bushes were drifted in on the south side. I just knew the race would come back towards me because the strip is in the middle of a bunch of fields. Not long after he left i was just standing there listening and thinking dang they have to be right behind that cat and then I heard a chirping noise and I thought what kind of bird is that but It didn't really sound like a bird and it was coming toward me on the ground. So i just stood there and waited and it was a bobber sneaking along the brush but still a good 500yds or so ahead of dogs. Well after it went by me withen about 20 yds I actually started to listen to the dogs and they were treed back up the strip about 200yds away. So I started off that ways thinking that the cat had more than likely bailed and they didn't see it. Well I met my friend on my way to the dogs he was saying they got it treed. I said really well one just went past me back down the strip aways. Well we got to the tree and sure enough they had a bobber up a dead tree. Well we hooked up the dogs and went back to the spot where the other cat went by me and turned loose not to much later we put the second one up. Got some cool pictures but will have to wait till my kids can show me how to put them on here. I know there are instructions but that don't help me much I'm just learning and my kids know alot more about this computer. Sometimes it is nice to have a little luck. Of course we tell our fellow houndsmen that it was all skill and knowing.
