Calling all Nevada houndsmen!!!!
I am writing to ask for your support of a new Nevada houndsmen organization by becoming member.Your membership will help provide a voice for the houndsmen of Nevada.
As many of you know we are in danger of loosing our rights to run game with hounds. In other parts of the country houndsmen have lost their rights already. We need to unite and make a voice for our sport. The houndsmen groups in California (and other states) have saved thier right to run game with hounds over and over again. We are constantly under attack from the anti hunting groups and now we are being hit by "sportsmen" in our own state.
As an organization we would be able to make a difference in our state regarding regulation and legislative changes affecting our sport.United we would have a voice at wildlife commission meetings, county advisory board meetings, and local or state government meetings to speek out for the preservation of our intrests.
To get this organization off the ground we need to have a first meeting to organize, decide on a name, elect officials, open a bank account and file with the state as a nonprofit organization. All of this doesnt have to happen that day, just get the ball rolling.I have talked to several of you around the state and it appears that the 25th of April, 2009 would be a good day for most people to be able to meet. I dont know where a fair place to meet is though. Most of the people that have committed to helping run this are from North Eastern Nevada but there also was some intrest from Fallon and Las Vegas so I was thinking maybe we should meet in Winnemucca or somewhere else more centralized in the state to make it fair for all. ANY INPUT OR IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! Please contact me asap to let me know if you can attend and to suggest a location.Attendance is not totally necessary and anyone who would like to helpout please let me know EVEN IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND.
