With the temps hitting the 80s already lets recap some prevention methods for dogs in warm weather.
I stop looking for tracks at 65 degrees.
If I have a tree job above 55 I take a minimum of 1/2 gallon of water per dog to the tree with a dish and get there as fast as I can.
Let's post some pointers for the newer folks........

U have to hunt at night in the hot time of summer.
I hunt cats every night that the weather permits.
Where I live it only gets to hot at night, only a few nights per year. I
Always keep a water bucket in the dog box, all year around. I have special made water bucket, so it don,t spill or slop out & dogs can still drink.

Like U.R.E. I take water for the dogs but I use an eletrolyte powder to mix in, helps keep the dogs functionings. Also i take a towel to soak if needed and make a cool coat for the dogs if they over heat.

Hey I have a question? I put water in my dogs food in the winter to help keep hydrated, especially if water buckets freeze constantly. Is it good to put in summer say like if you knew you were taking dogs out by the weekend or whatever? Like for the next couple of days before?

moisture plus heat plus dog food sounds like it can grow bacteria fast.....unless they eat all of it in one sitting, I would not do that

Thanks nmplott---I never thought of that! They do eat it all in one sitting but still not worth the risk just in case.
