Was just about to call it a day and was just 3/4 mile from the blacktop when the box blew up. It was late enough in the day I had to look at my watch and decide if I wanted to at it all night long. When I dumped the box all five dogs hit the brush going hard and fast. Well it was a short race, I kept getting ahead of the race and was able to turn the bear back into the dogs a few times by keeping him from crossing the road. Right around an hour long race and this was the reward:
seems like they always suprise you when you least expect it huh? haha nice job and keep em treed mike
hank taught me just how to stay alive, you'll never catch out the house without my 9 or .45. i got a big orange tractor and a diesel truck and my idea of heavens chasin whitetail bucks...
Ryan, You are right of course, I did leave a few dogs out of the pics. But that photo was just amazing the way the two of them were posed up on that rock giving that bear what for. Vindetta did good on that race too, and when I got to the tree she had the slobber flying true to her form. Lastnight she got left out of the race on the little sixty pounder we treed. My boy had to go deep in a reprod to get it started on a bear he spotted from over a mile away. Vin wouldn't take off and get down there, acted like her feet are a bit tender, so we ended up putting it up with just two dogs. Short half hour race too, bear cooperated and moved all over in the tree so the dogs could see it too.
WalkersRule, That blue dog, well both of my blues are line bred Jet. They are half brothers, the sire is Shorty II (if I remember right) and they have different dams. They are both five years old this year so the papers show Jet 4 and 5, maybe a 6 too. I purchased these two dogs out of Michigan about three years ago or so.
Thanks for the comments guys. I have been having a blast. I still got four or five days left to my vacation.
