as soon as I get the pups to start eating soft food, usually 4 weeks, I start moving the mother to adjoing pen for 2 or 3 hours, then return herfor a short time. As they eat more, increase to females absence untill she is away most of the time and starting to dry up. when she starts to reject thier nursing attempts, mshe can stay a short time twice a day. Then when dry, she needs to return to them . bignblu
