Just wondering how many houndsmen from Arizona & New Mexico are whinning about not being able to chase bears here (Arizona & New Mexico). I look at posts of people catching bears in Utah, Idaho, & Wisc, Etc... I do go up to Utah in their pursuit season, this day in age its tough with the fuel prices, and the lack of work. 2 years ago use houndsmens in Arizona proposed to the commission to let us have a pursuit season but havent yet seen it. Now I feel better that I got my whinning out of the way. LOL!!

Rockman,
First Trip we went up to early only cut a couple of tracks and never caught up to one. Second trip my dog went with out me and chased a "Nike" bear from sunup till around midnight when he was called off. Apparently this bear has been running for a couple years now and he don't know he's suppose to stop. Hitting a Quota Unit tomorrow and next week via horse back. July, back to Utah and before I know it August 1 will be here.
Yeah the first trip was with Coop and the second trip he took my dog. He's a great wealth of information and I am trying to absorb as much as possible.

Tman308,
Thats all part of it alot of money out of your pocket, and sum broken hearts when you dont catch up to a bear that you turned out on. . . . gotta love it tho, Its good for the dogs to pound out a tough track.

Mike,
You are more then welcome to come up out of that heat and do a loop with me. The dogs have trailed two lions in the last two weeks. I think we were 2 days behind on both though because we never jumped them just trailed all day long. It was a lot of fun specially since I was horseback and not trudging down those canyons. I am also going to Utah in July sometime if you are interested.
