I think so. Date doesn't have to be confirmed until Mar 1, but Travis has agreed to be our "walker club contact person". I think it'll be the last weekend in May.
I will definitely post on here when it's all confirmed.
Are you going to tune something up for the Nite Hunt? I believe the walker club sponsors King and Queen of Hunt and Show, but our club will probably do a King & Queen of FT and WR too. We'll see!

That would be neat.. Lord knows I have plenty of walkers to drag down there.. I am hoping Jane will be tuned enough to nite hunt. She would probably do fine know but I would like to get her seeing more coons before I start dropping her

If not, we have one of those really short eared walkers that we bought back.. She has had her hide hunted off on coon last year in CO.. I might give her a shot..
I don't have any WR prospects since Brisco has been banned (by me) from the pool

We are hoping to do a much better job of fencing the pond before our first water race this year. Hopefully it will eliminate the problem of cheating dogs.

Got the Walker Sectional Trophies today (sure was nice to have someone else responsible for ordering them!) and WOW are they NICE!!!
High Scoring Male & Female in the hunt are large clock plaques. King and Queen of Show are free-standing trophies.
Makes me almost wish I had a walker.

Hopefully I an get to look at a trophy, cause I sure couldn't win one!
I got plenty of them Walker dogs to pass around. Long or short eared. Big or small. Bawl or chop mouth. Fast or slow. Blanket backs or open spotted.

-- If you don't have anything to hunt Mel, I can surely give you a dog to put on your lead for the weekend... You can practie with one of ours. We always need someone to handle dogs in the NH.
Poor Brisco, he can't help it if he's a rebel. Now that Crash is no longer there, someone has to lead the "Cheater's Club."

I had an awful though last night too... It is going to be cutting it close to when Jane comes into heat

I have my fingers crossed that she stay out until afterwards...
'Sandra,
Might have to take you up on a dog to hunt.. I have been working on getting Jane ready.. or Jack.. but who knows
Brisco is more then happy to led the rebellion.. Him and I are currently butting heads about his last rebellion...
Heck, I am not saying I have a chance for a trophy.. I just want one

Better renew my TWB&FA dues...

Thinking about it Dutchess is due to come in right about then too. Craig would be mad to say the least!
We've been working on all of them, but we have so many we can't handle them all. So you can have your pick! I tried rotating and Buster one hunt, Aspen another, but I need to just stick with it and do just one.
You said you might want to breed to Buster someday, well by golly you can see just how he works, no better way than hunting him for yourself.

He's not hard to call. A bawl here and there, a few excited chops, then bawls to the wall tree dog.
I better renew mine too.

Tell me about it.. I would love to hunt Mabel but considering she hunts really really close, I don't think it would work...
If Jane is in heat we will talk

Otherwise I would probably be silly not to hunt my own dog.. Heck, I have a few I could loan out if anyone needed on to handle...

Don't worry bout a close hunter, I think thats what you want out here. Stick around and work up something other dogs pass by. Most our dogs are made to hunt fairly close, we just don't have the time or place for those "out of the country, get-deep types." That's only acceptable bear hunting.

If your not running track you better be in the bushes looking real hard within earshot, then check in and move on where I tell you to go. But once you unsnap them lined up with 3 other dogs they don't know, you'd be suprised how fast they learn what competition means. Trust me they usually act like completely different dogs. I was worried about these young dogs, but you never know until you try! Just don't have a dog kill a deer during a MiniSlam or RQE!!!
But if you don't want to goof up with your dog, you can do it with one of mine. I've been trying to get people to handle some for us, but no takers!
