I was just looking at the new Bear Hunting Mag. and saw an add for the new Tracker Xtenna. I wanted to know if anyone on here has tryed it and if it really works as well as they claim? I also wanted to know if anyone has tryed to hook it up to other brands of tracking boxes? I know it says only for the Tracker Maxima but from what I can see in the add and online looks like its just got the hook up as all the other boxes out there. Thanks for any help guys.

Back this past season, I field tested the Tracker GPS system and was asked if I had a Maxima to test the Xtenna as well.
Since I had didn't have a Maxima, I aksed could I still test it as the system I had at the time used a Yagi -- Jen told me the Xtenna's power booster was designed strictly for Maxima's inside electronics so they didn't send the Xtenna for me to try.

Their GPS system is based on Cell phones....I was a little hestitant as most places I run, I can't get a cell signal.
I never lost a signal and always knew where the dogs were..............in testing, I was able to pick up a collar twenty something miles away. I picked up a collar that was on the other side of the country like 700 miles away.
Problem is that Tracker USA was ready to release it to the market until SportDOG made an agreement with Tracker Finland with a sales and distribution agreement in North-America where all hunting dog related sales will be done by SportDOG in the future .
Since then, the Tracker GPS and the new Tracker Pica tracking collar have been put on hold waiting in SportDOG's hands with what they plan to do with them.
Since the SportDOG merger, Tracker USA has removed the GPS and PICA from their site.
Here is some links I have:

Tracker USA links appear dead now as it looks like the Tracker USA has recently redesigned their website. Most of have been in the last couple weeks as I posted those links on another forum earlier this month and they were working.

The USA site is up but those links to the PDF's on the USA site no longer work since after launching their new redesigned site.

I still would love to know if anyone out there has tryed it with some other system. I was looking at there photos on the Tracker web site and the Amp looks the same as the ones made for other types of systems. I'm not trying to say that they would market this and sell it saying it only works with there system and have it work for others, But I would sure give it a shot if I had one just to see if it would work.

I had to return the what was sent to me that I field tested so they would not been out anything by sending me the Xtenna --- I tried to get Jen to let me test it on a ICOM but they said no it was designed for a Maxima.
The GRE Booster will work on a ICOM but take that same GRE Booster and hook it up to a Maxima and you just ruined your Maxima's electronics.
That doesn't really make since to only market the Xtenna for the Maxima as that is only 1 product they can sell and market it to if it would work on other systems -- you would think if it worked with all systems, they would advertise it to do so as that is $$$$$$$ they'll be making.
