I have a Jeff Allen pup, and I was wanting to run him on bobbers and lions. Does anyone know if Jeff Allens dog's run cats good or not?

Jeff breeds his dogs for lion and his old strain grade dogs excell at this. Jeff also is raising some registered Nance bred walkers. although Jeff selects for dogs that can cold trail and catch lions some of both of these strains have ended up being very good on bobcat.Jeff is very clear in stating he wants a dog to be fully open on a track and he will seldom keep or breed a dog that shows the tendancy to be silent or semi silent on track. Many cat hunters seem to prefer a dog that is a little bit more tight mouthed than others. One of my best ever bobcat dogs was a high tan female directly out of Jeff's old Ace dog, and a black female that came from Stan Meacham. Kate was fully open on a track but she had a kind of mellow bawl and it never seemed to damamge her ability to catch a bobber.
So that is about all I know, but I like open trailers as well, becasue to me a large part of the fun is hearing the race.
