My best dog hasn't been eating the last two days, today he wouldn't even get out of his dog house . I gave hime penecilin and tried feeding meet scraps. the vet wont be back until tuesday. Is there anything else I can do that will help until tuesday.

In my experience you got three possibilities! Dehydration severe hook worms or intestinal parasites! I would suggest an over dose of panacur or ivamic and pedialite. The penecillin would help against the parasites my hannah female had them last year and we bout lost her! I hope this helps! You may have to use a large syrienge to shoot the pedialite down his throat! But all that should hold you over til your vet gets back

I would also agree with that too! My vet is available 24/7 and comes to every club meeting and informs us on when she'll be gone and the vets number who is covering for her in her absence! She is a hound specialist so that is also a big plus!

I'm sure your dog wont mind seeing another vet :?
Echo the pedialyte, it saved one of mines life this summer.
Half cup at a time every hour or so.
That and raw bison when he could stomache food again.

put chicken broth in a bowl with some dog food, atleast he will stay hydrated when he drinks the broth, give him a shot of ivermec (1/10 cc for every 10 pounds of the dog) and pedealite. You might want to put him on amoxicillan if you have any, that will cut any infection the dog might have. That should hold him over until tuesday. Main thing is, is that he drinks, keep him hydrated

if it is an older dog have his thyroid checked. it makes them lose there apatite. they get looking poorly fast. a simple pill every day from the vet fixes them up. i believe they half to run a blood check to find thyroid problems..
