Bear Hunting with rig dog

We do not have enough bear to just train that way so we run drags with bear scent across roads and along the sides of roads to get them started. Is there a better way?

ive herd of people using caged bears. but im not sure how to get a bear in a cage. lol i have enough trouble handling coons. lol

I have not done this yet but i've herd it works rell well.Get a coon in a cage and put the bear sent on him.They say a coon is close in smelling the same anyway.If you try it let us now.

We have used a coon with bear scent for many years on drags and to train for treeing and it has worked great. So it should work for this also. Thanks for the idea..

I DO BELIEVE THAT DOING WHAT YOUR DOING WITH YOUR BEAR SCENT, FOR YOU IS THE BEST IDEA SINCE YOU CAN'T US THE REAL THING [A BEAR.] MAKE SURE THEY ARE COMFORTABLE RIDING ON THE BOX OR HOOD. STARTING A PUP // FEED HIM UP ON TOP TO GET THEM USE TO BEING THERE
IF YOU SPRAY YOUR BEAR SCENT ON A COON YOU WILL HAVE TWO DIFFERENT SCENTS.
ONCE YOU GET YOUR DOGS STRIKING GO TO THE BEAR WOODS AND START DRIVING
IF THERE BEAR MINDED THEY WILL STRIKE
