How big of a dog are you all runnin? I am talking preffered height and weight??

I like em smaller , 35 to 40 pounds cause they don"t eat as much and seem to be more durable. I have some 65 pounders , but its getting tuff to lead 7 big dogs up hill away from a treed bear or lion. I"m gonna have to learn this ( whistle em off ) method I guess. I was always afraid that would cause em to leave a tree early?? Anyhow If I ever get a good dog I"ll probly keep him even if he"s a 100 pounder

I prefer the smaller round 50lb. They seem to have a little better stamina and tighter better feet. But unfortunately for me all mine are the 70-80lb in hunting shape. gonna havta starve them when there pups and try to stunt their growth LOL!!! But as long as they work it doesnt really matter I guess

I like mine small, athletic and houndy.

I like my females 35-45 lbs and my males 50-60lbs
I like them lean, and leggy. Females around 20" and males 22" at the shoulder.
Must have tight feet, alot of lung, nice ears and a big mouth!

I have one thats about 20" and 48lbs, 23" and 62lbs, 21" and 56lbs

My preference would be have hounds max out at about 60lbs,course some of mine are bigger now but that would be the best I think.
I've seen it often enough now to know that hounds that are on the larger size do break down quicker(as a general rule)than the smaller models.Particularly when they get a little age on em.Often times a large dog will be finished as a hard hunting hound at 10 years old where a smaller dog can still produce at 12 years old.Not always true but....

I see alot of people likeing the "economy" modles. My wife hollard at me when making the post so I never gave 2 cents. I like a tall stout dog. Males around 25-26 inches and about 65lbs, solid mass no dough roll dogs, girls 22-24 inches about 45-50 and the same, like women not excuss to get big unless there somthin growin in there . Long legs, deep chests, and tight feet. On males I also like a big stout head with good jaw power. they should look like hardened hunting dogs not the kids over fed mut. Just what I like. If anybody has a dog fitting the above let me know .

I prefer a small, short coupled, tight built hound. Most folks who know my hounds call em "toy ticks" instead of Blueticks LOL.
