Re: Looking for a pup trainer for bobcats in wisconsin
actually if someone is just starting out they don't know what bad even Means they have very little experience as to know how to deal with the woods and a cat or a dog and what he's doing depending on your dog hunting experience u have I would try and find someone to buddy up with and learn a few bas...

Re: you dirt hunters, a question
I'm a fox hunter not a cat hunter but here where I live we have no snow.last year was very dry for us not much rain and fox hunting was a lot different. Dogs learned they had to run closer to the fox to keep the race alive which put more pressure on him and shortened the races.at first dogs were tri...

Re: gritty hounds
Every bear is differnt lots of people think dogs that walk and bay a bear are great bay dogs. I've seen tons of bay ups in tight brush and let me just say when a bear shows any kind of weakness dogs know it and capitalize on it. When u get after one that runs a dog for fifty yards in the brush and r...

Re: Runnin dogs???
Twist, running dogs that learn to trail don't do it with there heads up so it's quite obvious u never had one. There just not as natural at it but it's not to say a good one isn't great at it. They also push the track naturally and have no problems with standing on there head when a trailing track c...

Re: Runnin dogs???
Dan I read your post and can see your point but don't agree with it.in most cases your right but there's lots of good hunters in the world that hunt just as hard as you do and have all different kinds of running dogs.first of all coons are a pretty smelly animal and with my experience there pretty e...

Re: Short hunting video
Nice video! I have heard lots of good things about Elmer Blankenship in the past never had the oppertunity to meet him but have met keven and thought he was a real nice guy. The art that goes into making that video and narrating your hunts sure show your passion for the sport I'm proud to say your v...

Re: dog not staying treed
Treeing a fox is not the most important part for a young dog it's track time.i would ask your friend to tell u what he thinks your dog is doing wrong to cause him to not let u road him to start with the old dogs or what he doesn't like about him in the race. Your dog will learn more running a track ...

Re: The Ultimate Bobcat Dog, PART ONE...
Just a quick response to hunting a dog too early. I totally dis agree I have trained lots of good dogs and always start them about 7 months in hard races.they learn how to get around through the creeks and brush and they get behind at first but the good ones figure it out in a month or so and don't ...

Re: Cold trails
A dog needs to close the gap between the start of any race and the animal. I've never had super cold nosed dogs but I have ran lots of jumped fox at a fast pace and when a dog starts a track he has to apply steady consistent pressure on the track faster and faster as he gets closer to the fox. If th...
