i am from wi. will run for gas money, just want to get one treed and shot for the dogs. i have no tag, but am in iron river area at my cabin. will be glad to help. we tree a few every year, getting better evbery year. have young dogs

thanks for the reply. that is how i feel. just dont like the thought of running a coon. i just want to get my youing dog going somehow. thscat thing is a good idea. i am getting anxioius to do something. i guess iwill just have to wait. have you ever used a scent drag just to get them thinking?

its been a pleasure chatting with you. i guess i am going to give this oung guysome more time. i just put out a live trap, and am going top try a live coon again. i wouldnt even care if he started chasing coon. at least it would be a start. we dont start bear here until july, but i did see a young ...

thanks again for your advice. you seem to be very up on things. i have been told my others too that i should take it slow, and wait for the chance for them to run with the older dogs to a bear tree. i guess i just worry as the others were just more into it when they were young. some took ...

we put ours 14" to bottom of hole. they can stand and look straight out, and also clears the bed of my pick up. dogs are not cramped. i hae my rack 16" tall and works fine. i guess it up to you and your dogs

i have an old redbone female that will rig really hot tracks from box, but will take an old track if i walk her down road. not sure why the difference, but she is that way and so was her pups. dam good dogs, but very average rig dogs. i tend to just stick to running off baits. she will take a 15 ...

you should be here is wis. gotta wait till july to run. that really sucks. ran a few coyotes and one cat this winter, but now the long wait sets in. i hate it.

thanksguys. we have been using a drag with the start dogs, and ending with it in thetree. seems to work ok, but gonna try to run coyotes next winter. we have alot of coons here so didnt try to run any this winter. will try some next winter with pack dogs. just hate to sit around till july doing ...

looking for a few tips for training by hounds to hunt bear. i am fairly new to this, and had some success last year. i need more training advice.

i have 2 plotss, one is 2, and the other is 1.

i also have a blue tick who is 5.

i have a good jump dog that i work with a drag with scent in the winter. i make a trail with scent, then let it sor about 2 hours and turn the dog loose. as she gets out w ways i turn a few more dogs loose. ihave a big stuffed toy loaded with scent at the tree, hanging just out of reach. they love ...

thanks for the advice guys!! had one dog get loose and he pinned a coyote in a culvert. was fun getting him out. been running a few of them. lots of fun. nowworking with a scent drag with my start dogs. trying to keep busy.
