Re: anyone had this problem?
I'd be careful coupling on a actual race. I couldn't imagine it would turn out good on a walking bear. Might get a dog killed like that. I had a pup that wouldn't leave me more than about 10 yards. I did put her on a coupler and she learned to take off after that. Biting some fur will probably help ...

Re: Pup wants nothing to do with hide.
I have a bluetick that has never ever gave a darn about a drag. She will track it, find it, give a bay once or twice try to climb the tree sometimes, but there's about 10 seconds of action and it's over and she's done. I thought she wasn't gonna make the cut so I said well screw it let's try a live ...

I see where you come from ridge runners. Maybe in the future if drop that cash on a dog. Just not economical at this point for my level. I'm still just investing my time and money before I actually get to make money.

Re: Andy Jenson dog's here it is
That was a hell of a interesting post haha. At least te gentleman who bought the dog could admit fault aND correct it like a man. On another note, 4k for a dog! I know guys do it, but damn I'm having a hard time spending 1500! Guess I love training them from scratch better. Haha yeah right

Re: Setting up a Tablet to track off your Garmin Alpha or Astro
So let's say you did this setup. Could a guy be on foot chasing dogs and another guy be driving around to a next ridge while both are seeing the dogs on screen? Or does the alpha need to be hooked up to the tablet?

Re: Best state for all around hunting
Sounds like you would love it here in New Mexico. We have from desert oryx, barbary, ibex, whitetail and desert bighorns all the way to elk, mule deer, rocky Mountain bighorns and bear and lion allover the state.

Re: a married houndsmens life
I found put quick to do some hard hunting, but make the same time for family. If that means hunting all night to get home early and drink a pot of coffee to stay awake and spend time with them, then so be it. Can't ever put more time into some hounds than the family. If you die tomorrow the family w...

Re: SRH vs RH
I have the super Redhawk .44mag in a 9.5 inch barrel. It's heavy but have it in a chest harness. I like that better than the hip so it doesn't pull your pants down while hiking and you can slide down a hill on your hip and not worry about your pistol. I like the fact that the SRH can handle some hot...

Re: question on deer breaking
I guess terrain is different? You would think you would have to see a track somewhere in a 30 foot radius. Those cats are damn smart though and they do love to follow deer and elk tracks! I see your point on getting them to strike colder tracks. I'll have to be cautious with that myself.

Re: question on deer breaking
I'm just getting into hunting, but shouldn't you check for positive track if your dog's strike? If your dog strikes and you just dump and there ain't nothing but deer or elk track then your dog's gonna rub the hell out of that track. If you get down and there ain't a single bear or cat track then co...
